Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) has announced that it has completed 50 per cent of the work on Al Rahmaniya-Al Azra strategic pipeline extension project that will serve key areas including the Sustainable City and the Um Faneen Area.
Sharjah: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) has announced a breather for consumers who are unable to pay their bills on time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sewa recently announced an extension to the deadline for utility bill payment without penalties for one month, for bills not exceeding Dh1,000; and 15 days for bills above Dh1,000. Earlier, there was only a seven-day grace period for making payments without incurring penalties. However, Hamed Taher Al Hajj, director of the Subscriber Services Department at Sewa, clarified to Gulf News how the department has decided to implement the decision, following several complaints from Gulf News readers that they could not avail the offer.

Sewa completes power connection to Khor Fakkan main grid SHARJAH, 3 days ago Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) has announced the completion of a major project linking the Shees area to the main electrical grid of Khor Fakkan through tunnels.
Following this key milestone, the operation of the 11/33 kV tunnel station will replace the diesel-generated power station in line with Sewa’s strategic plans.
Sewa is keen to develop its services and achieve stability in the electrical network and provide access to it services in all areas of the emirate under the best security and safety standards, remarked Ahmed Al Mulla, the Director of Khor Fakkan Sewa Department.

Sharjah buildings with 60pc work completion to get power SHARJAH, 3 hours, 43 minutes ago The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) has reduced the completion rate required to submit the approval files for the electrical executive plans for the new buildings (Shop Drawing) to 60 per cent from 75 per cent.
Electricity contractors can now submit the approval files for the operational plans according to the new percentage while delivering the best services for customers and speedy completion of the procedures for connecting electricity services to buildings, said the statement from Sewa.
Maryam Obaid bin Hashem, a senior official from Sewa, said the decision was in the interest of customers, the authority and the strategic partners, and the full project will be completed within the specified time for the delivery of services.

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa) signed an agreement with the Dutch Bundera Consult Company to establish an advanced weather station in the Central Region, to collect data and develop a climate information base to be used in preparing studies on renewable energy projects from wind and solar energy. The agreement was signed remotely by Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sewa, in the presence of Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Energy Transmission Department at the Authority, and Eric Ernst, Director of the Dutch Bundera Consult Company. Al Suwaidi stated that the authority is working under the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote sustainability and to develop a comprehensive energy strategy to seek the best solutions and technologies to ensure energy efficiency according to the highest standards by encouraging cooperation with all actors.
