Trust vows to push on with transformation after Aberdeen's Wallace Tower vandalised

The incident has not been reported to police.
Chairman Colin McFadyen said the vandalism at the site only makes them more determined to see its complete transformation through.
He said: “If anything it strengthens our resolve to get it back into use.
“Spray paint shouldn’t stop any of our attempts to develop but we need to make sure we have the building protected.
“There’s no CCTV in the area so there is not a lot the police can do about it.
“The building has been derelict for 10 years or so and it is not surprising it is a target for vandals. ....

Ambitious plans to turn an Aberdeen monument into a community facility are back on track, the Evening Express can reveal.
Wallace Tower, which was moved to Tillydrone Road from the city centre more than half a century ago, has lain derelict for many years.
In 2015, the Tillydrone Community Development Trust announced plans to turn it into a community hub, complete with a cafe and office space.
Planning permission was granted, but the group was forced to abandon its efforts as it ceased its operations from 2016.
However, the trust has now been restarted – and the plans for the tower have been revived alongside it. ....
