It’s been 13 years or so since Travis Tritt released a studio album, and country fans will find this one worth the wait.
Tritt made new LP “Set in Stone” with Nashville producer of the moment Dave Cobb, known for helming notable Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile and Jason Isbell discs.
It’s an inspired pairing. Tritt’s empathetic Southern vocals sound right at home amid Cobb’s naturalistic production. Musical arrangements walk the border between outlaw-country and truck-rock.
The tunes are there too. Tritt cowrote eight of the album’s 11 songs. Key writing collaborators include rising country talents Brent Cobb and Ashley Monroe. During his career, country star Travis Tritt has released
at least seven albums to achieve platinum sales status, including 1991 sophomore album “It’s All About to Change,” which went triple platinum, moving more than 3,000,000 units.
On April 24, Tritt and his band will perform live at Huntsville’ Von Braun Center Propst Arena, address 700 Monroe St. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. March 5 via ticketmaster.com and the VBC Box Office. Prices range from $45 to $98, not including fees. ....
