Walpole COA to host Drive-Thru Holiday Stroll Dec. 17

The Walpole Council on Aging is inviting residents to celebrate the holidays with their friends at the Council on Aging with a Drive-Thru Holiday Stroll for its members from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 17 in the parking lot at 60 South St.
Rain/snow date is Dec. 22. Despite this year’s limitations, the tradition of celebrating the holidays with extended COA family continues. The goal is to bring the community together for a safe, meaningful, and fun holiday celebration with the members. 
Community partners will be setting up vendor booths, decorated in their favorite holiday song theme, and providing socially distanced activities and/or giveaways at their “Vendor Stop.” Vendors include: Walpole Police Department, Junior Women’s Club of Walpole, Breaking Bread, Walpole Pharmacy, DiPietro Law, New Pond Village, Elm Street School PAC, HESSCO Elder Services, Norfolk County RSVP, and Home Instead Senior ....

Walpole resident Tyler Forgeron, 26, always has displayed a can-do attitude, whether it has been in participating in programs at the Family Autism Center in Westwood or working at a local Stop & Shop for eight years.
However, when COVID-19 struck, it temporarily crushed his most recent job, where the film aficionado was employed as an usher at the Showcase Cinema at Patriot Place.
“They love him there, and he has such a vast knowledge of movies,” explained Forgeron’s mother, Tracy Deroma. “He had just started at the end of last October and loved it, but then COVID hit in March.” ....
