Judith Leonhard Hendricks, MS, ANP, 71, of South Bethany passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Seasons Hospice in Wilmington.  She was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Yardley, Pa., daughter of the late Albert T. and Nancy (Bosworth) Leonhard.
Judy graduated from the University of Delaware in 1971 with a BSN. She then completed her master’s program at University of Maryland in 1978. Judy went on to become an assistant professor in the Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Delaware. In addition, she practiced as an APN for internal medicine with Christiana Care.
Judy was an active member of the Delaware Board of Nursing, serving two years as president. She was the chair of the Delaware Board of Nursing Joint Practice Committee, and was instrumental in obtaining prescriptive authority for Advanced Nurse Practitioner. As a founding member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners, she served as president 2004-05. ....

Eugenia 'Jean' A. Waters, had pet ministry

Eugenia Jean A. Waters, 76, of Rehoboth Beach departed this life Sunday, May 2, 2021, after complications from surgery. She was born Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1944, in New Haven, Conn., daughter of the late Anthony J. and Helen V. (D Albero) Marnett.
Jean was a North Haven High School graduate, class of 1962, in North Haven. She took business courses in high school, and began her career as a secretary with the New Haven Railroad. She then moved on and became an administrative assistant for Dr. Schwartz in the psychology department at Yale University. Following her time in Connecticut, she then moved to the Mid-Atlantic area with her husband Dave and worked alongside him in his business, Autoport in New Castle. She was then an executive assistant at Speakman Company for over 20 years. ....

Judith Marion Raffaelli, adored her grandchildren

Judith Marion Raffaelli, 79, of Lewes passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021, at her home.  She was born March 1, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., daughter of the late Francis and Edith (Ruch) Eisele.
Judy was a graduate of Teaneck High School, class of 1960. She continued her education at Berkeley Secretarial School and built a career working for such enterprises as McCall’s magazine and Cherokee High School as a secretary to the principal.  Judy’s love for adventure led her to became a travel agent. Upon retirement, Judy and Richard settled in Lewes in 2005.
Judy had many interests and hobbies.  She enjoyed crafts, needlepoint, crocheting, and sewing countless Barbie doll outfits for her granddaughters.  She relished living in Lewes and soaking up the sun on the beach, as well as travelling the world with her husband, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life.  Above all, Judy cherished time spent with those she held most dear, especiall ....

Elizabeth J. Lynch, 95, family matriarch and native of Lewes passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the home her family has lived in since her birth. She was born on New Year’s Day, 1926, at Beebe Hospital, daughter of the late Meta (Green) and Preston Joseph.
When she was 3, her parents built one of the first cottages on Lewes Beach where she enjoyed an idyllic childhood. As a young adult, Lib spent summers helping children with special needs at the Children’s Beach House. Her family would move to the beach for the summer and return to their home, in town, after Labor Day. ....

James 'Honeybunn' Bunn, retired line worker

James Albert “Honeybunn” Bunn, 78 of Lewes passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  He was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Albert and Charlotte (Furens) Bunn.
Mr. Bunn honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed a lifelong career working for General Motors as a line worker, retiring in 1992 after 30 dedicated years. In 1993 he moved full time to Lewes from Bel Air, Md.
Mr. Bunn always made sure that everyone else was taken care of by helping them any way that he could. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with those he held most dear. Mr. Bunn was a loving and devoted husband of 35 years, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. ....
