Italian free public Wi-Fi network reaches 3,200 localities Monday 14 December 2020 | 10:05 CET | News Italy s Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) announced that over 3,200 localities and 150 hospitals have signed up to the EUR 45 million Wi-Fi Italia project since it was launched in February 2019. The free Wi-Fi service has been activated by 710 of those localities as of 07 December 2020, with the most recent activations taking place in Casteldaccia in Sicily, Marciana in Tuscany, Bornasco and Jerago con Orago in Lombardy, Cinquefrondi in Calabria, Pinasca in Piedmont, Afragola in Campania and Nereto in Abruzzo. UK MVNO giffgaff is migrating its entire IT stack and application development work from its in-house servers to Amazon Web Services (AWS), with the migration set to be completed by the end of this year. It will use more than 60 of AWS’s 175+ services to fulfil its needs. The move will make the MVNO, which is owned by O2 UK and (naturally) uses its network to provide mobile services, more efficient and speed up development times, according to the company’s chief operating and technical officer Steve MacDonald. ....
