Italian free public Wi-Fi network reaches 3,200 localities

Italy s Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) announced that over 3,200 localities and 150 hospitals have signed up to the EUR 45 million Wi-Fi Italia project since it was launched in February 2019. The free Wi-Fi service has been activated by 710 of those localities as of 07 December 2020, with the most recent activations taking place in Casteldaccia in Sicily, Marciana in Tuscany, Bornasco and Jerago con Orago in Lombardy, Cinquefrondi in Calabria, Pinasca in Piedmont, Afragola in Campania and Nereto in Abruzzo.
