Pembrokeshire College A new engineering building will be built at Pembrokeshire College after it was backed by members of the council’s planning committee. A 977 square metre, single storey building, is proposed on part of the college’s car par area to the north west of the main building. At its meeting on Tuesday (April 20) councillors heard that car parking would be replaced with the overall loss of spaces amounting to just four. Cllr Vic Dennis asked why there was a need to “shoehorn” another building on the Haverfordwest site instead of investing in the Milford Haven engineering building currently used and was told it was part of the college’s “strategic aim to consolidate the engineering teaching facilities.” ....
WORK has begun this week on transforming an eyesore site that has stood neglected at the gateway to Narberth for over a dozen years Two former pupils of the town’s old primary school are behind the scheme to create housing, a new home for Narberth’s community library, a shop and a food and drink outlet in the building, which will retain its Victorian frontage. Local butcher Andrew Rees and construction company owner Charles Salmon, who now lives in Lincoln, are Pembrokeshire County Council’s preferred developers of the site in Moorfield Road and gained planning permission for their scheme last year. ....
In the recent Pavs Pembrokeshire Volunteering Awards, Maggie received the Trustee Award. The accolade comes as Maggie steps down from Span Arts after over 30 years of service. A Pavs spokeswoman said: Trustees are often the ‘unsung heroes’ of a charity, who give their time to ensure the organisation is financially safe, well run and legal, whilst also supporting the mission of the organisation - sometimes in difficult circumstances. Maggie has been the backbone of Span Arts, bringing her diligent, committed and caring influence to the arts charity. Maggie was part of an enthusiastic group who ran the Narberth Children s Festivals in the 80s, as well as supporting the programme at the Queens Hall, Narberth. ....
