WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre took the stage for their first live performance of Cinderella since COVID-19.
Over 40 dancers and 15 stage crew members have been working since January to put together sets, props and costumes.
The ballet had sold 430 tickets on Wednesday and they say both audience members and dancers were equally excited for curtain call.
âItâs suppose to be live and itâs suppose to be performed on a stage in front of an audience. So that the dancers can hear the audience gasping when they see that dancer for the first time. Even clapping at something the dancers did. Dancers really feed off the audienceâs energy,â said Mishic Liberatore, Artistic Director Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre. ....

Wichita Falls Ballet takes stage for first time since COVID
The Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre (WFBT) is set to have their first live public performance since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring.
Their first show back will be “Cinderella,” which will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Memorial Auditorium.
The full-length performance will feature WFBT company dancers along with Sam Jones, a guest artist from the Oklahoma City Ballet.
“I feel it is the beginning of our first steps as a company trying to return towards some sense normalcy,” said Executive Director Valentine Liberatore. “After a year and a half of not dancing on that big stage, I know the company dancers will be thrilled to be back in the limelight. I personally can’t wait to see the show this weekend, and I think our audience will feel their joy as they’re returning to the stage.” ....
