'I beg them, please': Ahmed reacts to large gathering at Harvest Bible Church

Multiple residents living on Spring Garden Road submitted complaints to Windsor police after dozens of people were seen walking into Harvest Bible Church Sunday.
“Every Sunday like a clockwork. It hasn’t stopped,” says resident, Andre Lalonde. “I’m completely frustrated.”
Lalonde tells CTV News he called in a complaint to 311, who directed him to by-law enforcement, who then directed him to Windsor police.
“They’re walking in without a mask. They’re over 100 people at a time,” says Lalonde. “No respect. They don’t care about the bylaws. They don’t care about Windsor.”
“They say they’re investigating. Investigating what?” criticizes Lalonde. “You ask what they’re investigating? They say they can’t tell me. What are they doing about it?” ....

Emergency crews were on scene in the 1000 block of Bruce Avenue, Sunday


 
WINDSOR, ONT.
Multiple police cruisers and firefighters from Windsor Fire and Rescue were on scene of a criminal investigation Sunday afternoon in the 1000 block of Bruce Avenue.
Windsor Police tell CTV News that the scene is benig held and Major Crimes is now being investigated.
Multiple sources, including witnesses report that two people were transported to hospital with at least one having serious injuries.

Vaccine age band drops to include residents 50+, 18+ in Windsor-Essex hot spot areas

Windsor-Essex residents aged 18 and older living in specific “hot spot” postal codes are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine at three of the region s targeted vaccination clinics.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit announced Monday they will be expanding the vaccine availability to those 18 and older living in specific hot spot area codes including: N8X, N8Y, N9A, N9B, N9C, N8H, and N9Y.
“We recognize that provincially those in hot spots are having real issues and we are happy to move along and we did ramp up very quickly on the weekend to get the website updated, our booking system updated and the media release out to inform people,” WECHU CEO Theresa Marentette says. ....

Windsor police investigate vandalism of Sandwich Town mural celebrating Black History


 
WINDSOR, ONT.
Windsor police are seeking information surrounding a vandalism investigation after a Black History mural in Sandwich Town had been defaced.
Police received information Friday around 3:15 p.m. that an unknown party had defaced a mural dedicated to Howard Walkins, known as the country’s second African-Canadian detective, with blue spray paint.
The mural is located at Paterson Park in the 3000 block of Sandwich Street.
Ward 2 city councillor, Fabio Costante told CTV News Saturday he had also noticed a few dents and a long scratch mark on the mural.
“So many people were invested and involved in this project and to see some people try to ruin it is disheartening,” he said. “It’s not Windsor at its best. ....
