The preliminary permission grant is envisioned to assist the supplementary framework development of subsequent UAV rules pertaining to Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations. BVLOS trials will help create framework for future drone deliveries and other major applications using drones. ....

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Wednesday permitted to 20 entities to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) experimental flights of drones for a period of one year. These entities have been granted conditional exemption from the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Rules, 2021, the government said in a release. The government hopes that these trials will help create a framework for future applications using drones such as drone deliveries.
On April 30, MediaNama reported that the Central government permitted educational institutions and other government bodies to take up “beyond the visual line of sight” (BVLOS) operations, provided that they meet the criteria of the Directorate General Of Civil Aviation. The decision was taken after the Ministry of Civil Aviation received a myriad of proposals with regard to the use of drones to deliver COVID19 vaccines. ....

A three-day defence expo, which will see the participation of more than 400 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), will be held between March 19 and 21 at the Chennai Trade Centre here.
The expo is being organised by Swatantra Foundation, a Chennai-based policy research and advocacy institution, and the Aerospace Industry Development Association of Tamil Nadu (AIDAT).
The ‘Defence Expo Empowering MSME ’21’ is aimed at connecting MSMEs with end users in the defence services, Indian defence manufacturing majors and the various R&D institutions under the DRDO and DPSUs, an official press release said. ....

Swatantra Foundation, a Chennai-based institution devoted to policy research and advocacy, jointly with the Aerospace Industry Development Association of Tamil Nadu, which focuses on the aerospace & Defence ecosystem development in the State, will organise the Defence Expo Empowering MSME 21 event in Chennai from March 19 to 21.
Over 400 large, medium, small & micro units are expected to participate in the event to be held at the Chennai Trade Centre. The objective of the expo is to unlock this potential in favour of Indian industries and empower the MSMEs. ....
