'FCUK' movie review: A decent idea gone haywire

"The way you dress determines how men see you. Therefore, saree is the best," a mother tells her daughter, the female lead, in FCUK. It's not a one-off statement. Umaa (Ammu Abirami) fondly remembers this problematic message in an emotional scene. And a key message of the film is that a female and a male child are not equal as they are brought up in different ways.
Fani Bhoopal (Jagapathi Babu) is 60 but his ways are those of a youngster. He is into the condom-manufacturing and nobody can be a better advertiser for condoms than him. His womaniszing ways at times irk his son, Karthik (Ram Karthik), who is a compulsive flirt minus the itch to philander. Karthik is in love with Uma, who is engaged but somehow feels that she should date Karthik as she flirted with him during a wedding.

FCUK, which is a short Father-Chitti-Umaa-Kaarthik, has got an unorthodox idea at its core. What happens when a 60-year-old man enters into a relationship with a woman and fathers a child, leading to some idiosyncratic outcomes? To be fair to the movie, an idea or two it projects in the form of dialogues are pertinent. Like how it's so wrong to be ageist. Like how sex workers are humans with a heart and a soul. The problem is, these relevant topics are buried under a heap of regressive ideas and juvenile comedy.

FCUK (Father Chitti Uma Karthik) movie which has Jagapathi Babu in the lead role along with young pair Ram Kaarthik and Ammu Abhirami is bracing up for February 12th release. The film directed by Vidyasagar Raju and produced by KL Damodar Prasad under Sri Ranjith Movies had Barasala function (pre-release event) last night. After having Covid warriors release the vocals of the movie songs, the YouTube stars released the music videos.
Speaking at the do, Jagapathi Babu said that it was an fantastic idea to get the YouTube stars to release the songs and that everyone is indebted to them for keeping the pandemic year manageable. He compared 300 people working on a movie to the one man show of a YouTuber and said that in itself speaks volumes about their efforts and greatness. Speaking about the movie he said he liked the movie title the moment Director Vidyasagar told him. He said everything about the movie is truly fantastic. He said the amazing success of the teaser itself is a clear indication of how much success the film will be. He said post pandemic the audiences have been awaiting a true entertainer and he was confident that FCUK movie will end that wait.

After becoming busy as a character artist, Jagapathi Babu is not keen on doing protagonist roles. But, it seems, he is bowled by a story narrated by Vidyasagar Raju as he is playing the lead role in the director’s maiden venture titled interestingly as Father-Chitti-Uma-Karthik (FCUK) produced by KL Damodar Prasad who made several content driven films under Sri Ranjith Movies.
Apparently, Jagapathi Babu plays Father, while the young artists Karthik and Ammu Abhirami will be seen as Karthik and Uma. And child actor Sahasritha essays Chitti in the emotional saga. The filming of FCUK is wrapped up and it is gearing up for release in January.
