Ronald Reagan is the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier and began its SRA for restoration work, maintenance and repairs after returning to Yokosuka last November from a six-month deployment in the Indo-Pacific region. “A ship s maintenance availability is always a huge project, but specific to Ronald Reagan, we work through many additional challenges here in Japan,” said Capt. Fred Goldhammer, Commanding Officer of Ronald Reagan. “That said, the teamwork and exceptional quality of work that we enjoy from our partners among government workers and contractors – Americans and Japanese working side by side, together - are second to none, and our track record over the past several years proves it. Jay Singer, NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka Site Chinhae site director. “It’s a significant demand on a smaller team and we work efficiently to support our mission partners.” Dry cargo ships USNS Sacagawea (T-AKE 2), USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) and USNS Alan Shepherd (T-AKE 3) requested husbanding services, delivery of mail and ATAC support from Site Chinhae. The primary mission of these ships is to provide logistic lift to deliver ammunition, food, limited quantities of fuel, repair parts and ships store items. ....

1 MANAMA, Bahrain Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain hosted a virtual Lean Six Sigma workshop for military, civilian, and foreign national personnel, April 26. The workshop taught the fundamental knowledge and methodology of the Lean Six Sigma program, enabling participants to improve work performance and productivity to support command missions and increase customer satisfaction with fully developed projects. Jacqueline Adams, the command continuous process improvement (CPI) champion of NAVSUP FLC Bahrain, coached a diverse group that included personnel from NAVSUP FLC Bahrain and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution Bahrain. “Improving processes that increase customer satisfaction and reduce time and costs is what we do at NAVSUP FLC Bahrain,” said Adams. “Lean Six Sigma provides the foundation for how we continuously develop our culture of excellence.” ....
