Malaysian pilots are out of practise; vital to boost their confidence to fly before travel resumes

Boosting confidence among pilots to take to the skies again is vital for the resumption of travel in a post-pandemic world.
The Covid-19 outbreak, which grounded planes worldwide for the most part of last year, has rendered many pilots out of practice. And going back to the cockpit and manoeuvring a plane, just isn’t as simple as riding a bicycle.
Aviation experts agree that when pilots don’t fly for several months, their skills and proficiency deteriorate.
The other side of the coin, however, reveals a much more complex issue – waning morale among crew members and lack of confidence to perform their duties effectively. ....

Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Gulf Air promotes four Bahraini pilots as captains

National carrier Gulf Air has announced that four of its Bahraini pilots - Ahmed Ismaeel, Ahmed Janahi, Mohammed Kamal and Mohammed Malek - have been promoted as captains following their succesful completion of the final check for command upgrade training programme. 
 
The airline s top management commended all the four for the achievement and also their uniform upgrade from three to four stripes.
 
Gulf Air said all the newly promoted captains have started their flying career with Gulf Air beginning from second officer and completing the required training and flying hours to become first officers and recently captains.
 
In line with its commitment to invest in the Bahraini workforce and their career development, the flag carrier continues to provide opportunities for the nationals to take over senior positions in the company. ....
