Polk sheriff: Disney employees, nurse and California man among 17 arrested in undercover child predator sting By FOX 13 news staff Published Ken Suarez reports WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Over a dozen arrests were made after suspects thought they were on their way to meet young teenagers to have sex, but it turned out they were communicating with undercover detectives across several agencies in central Florida. Among those arrested were three Walt Disney World employees, a registered nurse, and a married man visiting from California, officials say. The six-day operation targeted those who use the internet to prey on children, according to the Polk County Sheriff s Office. In total, 17 suspects face 49 felonies and two misdemeanors. ....
A 26-year-old lifeguard at Disney Worldâs Animal Kingdom Lodge was arrested in his work attire after went to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex in Polk County, according to the Sheriffâs Office. Kenneth Javier Aquino, of Orlando, was one of 17 people arrested in a sex sting dubbed âOperation Child Protectorâ involving detectives from the Auburndale Police Department, Orlando Police Department, Winter Haven Police Department and Orange County Sheriffâs Office. Florida law enforcement conducted an undercover operation from July 27th through August 1st, 2021, during which detectives posed as juveniles on social media platforms, mobile apps, and online dating sites to investigate those who prey upon and travel to meet children for unlawful sexual activity. Participating agencies included the Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Auburndale Police Department, Orlando Police Department, Winter Haven Police Department, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office. In what they called “Operation Child Protector,” the suspects communicated with and solicited who they thought were children between the ages of 13 and 14 for sexual acts. The suspects showed up to an undercover location in Polk County at separate times to meet who they thought were children, to sexually batter them.
