New Delhi [India], January 21 (ANI): Cases of avian influenza or bird flu in the national capital has decreased upto 50 per cent, the Animal Husbandry Department of Delhi said on Thursday.
Rakesh Singh, Director, Delhi s Animal Husbandry Department told ANI, We have noticed a decrease of almost 50 per cent complaint calls related to bird flu across Delhi. However, our surveillance teams are continuing to monitor the situation.
As per latest data 1200 cases of bird mortality have been reported to DelhiAnimal Husbandry Department along with 742 complaints calls till January 20. ....

New Delhi [India], January 19 (ANI): As the number of cases of avian influenza continues to rise across country, the national capital on Tuesday confirmed that crows, which were found dead near Delhi s Red Fort area tested positive for bird flu.
The official notice issued by the by Animal Husbandary Department stated, Samples of 15 crows that were found dead near Red Fort a week ago, test positive for bird flu. The samples were sent to Jalandhar and Bhopal for testing.
Animal Husbandry Department has issued directions to stop entry of common public at the Red Fort. ....

Bird flu scare: Sanitization, surveillance drills intensified in Delhi s National Zoological Park

New Delhi [India], January 16 (ANI): In line with directives given by the Centre to prevent the spread of bird flu, the authorities at Delhi s National Zoological Park (NZP) are taking all the possible preventive and prophylactic meticulously to contain the virus.
NZP at Delhi s Pragati Maidan area, houses both captive and free-ranging birds, including local migratory waterfowls and waders in its premises. The officials at NZP have intensified the sanitization and surveillance drills.
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (FAHD) has stated that in Delhi, Pigeon and brown fish owl in Najafgarh and Heron in Rohini have tested positive for avian influenza. ....

Bird flu confirmed in Delhi, all 8 samples sent to Bhopal lab tested positive: Officials
NEW DELHI: Testing of eight samples sent to a Bhopal-based laboratory has confirmed bird flu in Delhi, officials said on Monday.
All eight samples four from a park in Mayur Vihar Phase 3, three from Sanjay Lake and one from Dwarka have been found positive for avian influenza, Dr Rakesh Singh from the animal husbandry unit of the Development Department said.
The report of the test results arrived on Monday morning, he said.
A drive to cull ducks has begun at the famous Sanjay Lake, where 10 ducks were found dead recently, Singh added. ....

The Animal Husbandry Department of Delhi government on Monday confirmed cases of bird flu in the national capital. Eight samples from dead crows and ducks were sent for testing. All the samples tested positive for avian flu, said the Animal Husbandry Department. As many as 91 crows and 27 ducks were found dead across 15 Delhi Development Authority (DDA) parks in Delhi on Sunday. According to an official release, Green Area Sanjay Lake at Trilokpuri Phase-I, II and III was declared as Alert Zone .
Meanwhile, a total of 24 crows were also reported dead at the District Park and Plantation at Sarita Vihar. Four crows were also reported dead at the central nursery located in Sector 5, Dwarka. All the dead crows were buried deep into the ground, and requisite preventive measures are being taken as per the advisory of the Animal Husbandry Department. ....
