BURLINGTON  CITY  Police pulled over one car after another at a crosswalk on downtown High Street where Santa Claus was ringing his bell and trying to cross on a pre-Christmas visit to the city.
Bewildered drivers may have thought they were being cited for a traffic violation, but instead found themselves on the Jolly Old Elf s nice list.
Burlington City Police Chief John Fine thanked the 20 drivers he pulled over for obeying the crosswalk law while police labor organization president Brian Ptaszenski handed each of them a Wawa gift card and a Wawa coupon. The police department conducted the traffic stops for an hour Tuesday afternoon downtown for traffic safety awareness. ....
