BURLINGTON  CITY — Police pulled over one car after another at a crosswalk on downtown High Street where Santa Claus was ringing his bell and trying to cross on a pre-Christmas visit to the city. Bewildered drivers may have thought they were being cited for a traffic violation, but instead found themselves on the Jolly Old Elf's nice list. WEST GOSHEN — A major health scare couldn’t stop Jim Whalen of 5 S. Concord Road from setting up a massive display of Christmas lights as has he has for the past 21 years. The doctors don’t know why Whalen’s heart stopped beating twice on Oct. 15, but Whalen and all the “elves” are happy to show off 24 inflatables, Santa and his sleigh and a huge American flag in the Whalens' front yard.
