Meet The Page Sisters: Top of Class in Birmingham and HBCUs

Jamilah, Hadiyah, and Ayannah Page are more than sisters. They are classmates, mentors, friends, confidants, and colleagues who attended the same Birmingham high school and the same Alabama historically Black college and university (HBCU).
–Jamilah, 26, the oldest graduated from Auburn University this year with a Ph.D. in nutrition, with an emphasis on community nutrition and public health; she will start a new job as an assistant professor at Berea College located in Berea, Kentucky, in August.
–Hadiyah, 23, the middle sister, graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) this year with a master’s degree in public health, with a concentration in maternal and child health care and policy; she will begin attending Ross University in Barbados in August to study interventional medicine. –Ayannah, 21, the youngest, graduated from Tuskegee University this year with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, w ....

Marion County couple killed in SR 200 vehicle crash

The couple, who had been together for six years, died the night of May 27 when the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a pickup truck on State Road 200 a few miles from the Citrus County line.
In its press releases, the Florida Highway Patrol no longer publishes the names of people involved in crashes. As a result, Page and Heussner were not named in initial news accounts about the fatal wreck.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Page, who was driving, and Heussner were on a Harley-Davidson traveling northbound/eastbound, toward Ocala, on SR 200. A Chevy Silverado pickup, heading toward Citrus, was passing traffic on the two-lane road and hit the motorcycle head on, ejecting Page and Heussner. ....

Brookston man charged with triple homicide in Peru

PERU â A White County man was officially charged May 25 with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of two adults and a child in Miami County.
Mitchell William Page, 25, of Brookston, was taken into custody during the weekend and lodged at the Miami County Jail. He is accused of killing Jessica Sizemore, 26, Jessiah Hall, 37, and RaeâLynn Sizemore, 4.
Jessica and Rae-Lynn Sizemore and Hall all lived at a home in Woodland Hills Trailer Court, in the 2800 block of South 300 West, Lot 37, in Peru.
According to Indiana State Police, Miami County sheriffâs deputies were dispatched to the home May 21 to check on the welfare of its residents. Thatâs when all three of their bodies were discovered. Each had been shot in the head with a 9mm pistol, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Miami County Prosecutorâs Office. ....
