WILLIAMSBURG Evelyn Frazier Thompson, 56, died Thursday, March 11, 2021. She was born Feb. 1, 1965, daughter of Alexander J. Frazier Sr. and the late Alice Cowles Frazier of Williamsburg, Virginia.
In her youth, she confessed Christ as her personal savior. She enjoyed singing and spent many years singing with various choirs, including the Mt. Pilgrimaires; The Voices of Hope; Earl Bynum and The Virginia Mass Choir; The Williamsburg Gospel Choral; as well as with her family group, The Frazier Jubileers.
Evelyn graduated from Lafayette High School, Williamsburg, and obtained her cosmetology license from Jan Mar Beauty Academy.
Many people knew her as a hard worker whose career spanned over 35 years. She was an entrepreneur who owned and operated her own hair salon, Shear Perfection; and Mines, Yours, Ours Consignment Store. She also worked with various barbers and cosmetologists in the Williamsburg and Newport News areas for many years. Her ....

WILLIAMSBURG Francisco Enrique McDowell, 85, affectionately known as “Bro. Ricky,” “Bro. Rick” and “Cisco,” was called home to glory Thursday, March 4, 2021. He was born March 10, 1935, in Faith’s Pen, Jamaica, to the late Sydney and Ida McDowell.
Bro. Ricky moved to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, as an adult and began his working career. While in Ocho Rios, he was introduced to the United Pentecostal Church, where he was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He married Delphis Octavia White Jan. 21, 1959. They served in Bethel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, before moving the family to the United States of America. ....

MOYOCK, N.C. Debra Ann “Debbie” Deal, 69, left this world for her eternal home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 9, 2021, after a brave battle with cancer.
Debbie was born March 3, 1952, in Washington, D.C., at Walter Reed Hospital, the only child of Dorothy Marie Deal and David Lee Deal. The family moved to Williamsburg April 20, 1952. Debbie’s earliest years were spent living in base housing at Cheatham Annex. She loved her childhood there.
She remembers getting a doll bed for Christmas when she was two years old and sitting in it with an ever-present Pepsi Cola in hand. She remembers her daddy pushing her on a swing and hitting himself in the head! She loved the chapel on base and memorized the 23rd Psalm there in Sunday school when she was four-years-old. ....

She was united in marriage to the late Freddie C. Elliott. To this union, five children were born.
Thelma loved the Lord her Savior and friend. She lived her life in worship to Him. Her earthly service to Christ and others was to love in spirit and in truth. Thelma never met a stranger. Henry Carter Lindsey, 89, taught high school biology for 40 years | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily


WILLIAMSBURG Henry Carter Lindsey, 89, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Jean Lindsey.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Postman (Eric); and grandsons, Zachary Postman (Natalie) and Nathan Postman (Kelsey). He is also survived by his wife of two years, Tracey Eileen Lindsey, who was a friend and companion in his final years.
Henry grew up in Farmville. He went from raising bees on his porch to studying science at “Mr. Jefferson’s University.” He was a medic in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. They moved to Williamsburg, where he taught high school biology for 40 years. ....
