The Merchant Square’s Food Drive starts on March 12. (WYDaily/Courtesy of Unsplash) MERCHANTS SQUARE Colonial Williamsburg’s Merchants Square is hosting a food drive to benefit the House of Mercy in Williamsburg starting Friday. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Williamsburg House of Mercy has collected over a million pounds of food for those in need, and is continuing to do so with this year’s Merchants Square Food Drive, according to a Merchants Square Facebook post on Monday. The donation event begins Friday, March 12 and continues through Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The non-profit organization is asking the community to bring food and toiletrie donations the following stores in Merchants Square: Simply Southern, Aromas, Baskin-Robbins, Three Cabanas, DoG Street Pub, The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg, The Carousel, Henry Street Shops, Danforth Pewter, Wythe Candy and Blue Talon Bistro ....
