Agitation which started with the farmer protest in Punjab and Haryana shifted to Delhi borders last year around November 26, 2020. It spread like a fire in the jungle. Delhi border entry points saw heavy crowds gathering together for protest. Singhu Border (not Shambhu), Ghazipur Border, Chilla Border were main sites where farmers from north India alighted and started a very strong protest against the three farm laws passed by the Central Government in the Parliament.
The laws posed a threat to farmer lands or not, that was a worry earlier which was said to be the main agenda of this protest, but slowly and gradually it changed and in the last few days the request of farmers and agenda has become a demand; a demand to end the three laws. ....

Navi Mumbai: Traders’ body GROMA welcomes SC order on Farm Laws

Traders at the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) welcomed the Supreme Court order of suspension the implementation of the three farm laws until further notice and set up a committee comprising experts to hear the parties and understand the ground situation. They claimed that this is a half victory, and now the state government should also waive off the cess, being collected at the wholesale market for any trade.
Bhimji Bhanushali, secretary of the Grain, Rice & Oilseeds, Merchants’ Association (GROMA) said that the Supreme Court order has come as a big relief for farmers as well as traders. “The farm laws are meant to end of the APMCs across the country,” said Bhanushali. He added that the laws are against the livelihood of lakhs of traders and farmers. ....

CII Jharkhand welcomes new farm laws, lauds Centre for pushing reforms
‘There’ll be more avenues to sell produce at better prices and at reduced transportation costs’
Jharkhand State Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has come out in support of the three farm laws, welcoming the Union government’s decision to push for agri marketing reforms.
The reforms are aimed towards moving to a ‘One Nation, One Market’ regime. The reforms were announced under the economic package for building Atmanirbhar Bharat and the quick action in terms of approval by the Union cabinet is commendable, Sanjay Sabherwal, chairman, CII Jharkhand, said here on Thursday. ....
