New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday, April 26, granted bail to actor-activist Deep Sidhu, arrested in the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) case pertaining to the Republic Day violence at Red Fort. The court came down heavily on the police’s decision to re-arrest Sidhu a day after he got bail, noting that the timing of arrest was questionable.

Peaceful 'satyagraha' of 'annadatas' in national interest, says Rahul Gandhi ahead of chakka jam

Why do you scare by the wall of fear? she tweeted along with the picture.
The Congress had on Friday extended support to the countrywide chakka jam called by the farmer unions, saying party workers will stand shoulder to shoulder with farmers in their protest.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting at Delhi s borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh demanding the rollback of the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
The protesting farmers have expressed apprehension that these laws would pave the way for the dismantling of the minimum support price system, leaving them at the mercy of big corporations.

Chandigarh: Haryana Congress chief Kumari Selja has made a sensational claim that many MLAs from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana and others are in touch with them. The Khattar government has been facing the farmers’ ire as far as the farm laws are concerned.
Trouble seems to be brewing for the state government with Kumari Selja’s claim. “There are many MLAs – with the ruling dispensation, its allies and Independents – who are realising the truth. They talk to us and also show their disappointment. When such a situation arises, we will do what the Constitution demands,” she said.
