ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority has opened another round of applications for its COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program.
The program offers grants to cover housing costs for households that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release from MFA.
Applicants aren’t required to be delinquent on their rent or mortgage payments to qualify this time out, but they must certify that they have had a pandemic-related hardship.
The cost assistance program is available to households earning 80% or less of their area’s median income and to households of all incomes that live on tribal lands in New Mexico, according to the release. ....

The MFA is accepting applications for the COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program. The program offers grants to cover housing costs to ensure that households maintain their housing and/or to reduce delinquency caused by the COVID-19 health crisis. As an MFA partner, we are asking that you help us get the word out about this crucial assistance.
The COVID-19 Housing Cost Assistance Program is available to New Mexico households earning 80 percent or less of the median income for their area, and to households of all incomes living on tribal lands in New Mexico. At the time of compiling this report, the New Mexico Department of Health, announced a total of 114,731 New Mexico COVID-19 confirmed positive cases statewide, an increase of 1,791 new cases. In addition, COVID-19 cases recorded locally are as follows: Grant County increased 9 new cases for a total of 599 positive cases; Luna County increased 18 new cases for a total of 2,118 positive cases; Hidalgo County increased 1 new cases for a total 205 total positive cases; and Catron County remain unchanged with 51 positive cases. Statewide, there are 916 COVID-19 hospitalizations.
The New Mexico Department of Health has announced two new public health emergency orders in response to the added strain on hospitals and health care providers due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first new order will temporarily limit non-essential surgeries effective from today, December 11 ....
