SURAT: Students of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) will be able to give exams every month, if, things go as planned. Meanwhile, VNSGU’s syndicate and academic council has approved a proposal to prepare modalities of the new ‘On Demand Exam’ (ODE) system.
If this turns into a reality, VNSGU will probably create a unique record in the country to approve the system for which it has already started preparations. A committee will be appointed by the vice-chancellor to decide on the modalities. The system will help students save at least nine months in getting admission in the next academic session, or course or employment. In the initial phase, the system is being brought for only those students who have failed in the exam. ....

VNSGU started disaffiliation of eight colleges of which five are run by the SES, one by the Vanita Vishram Trust and two from Bardoli are associated with trust that runs Uka Tarsadia University
SURAT: Future of some of the oldest colleges of south Gujarat run by Sarvajanik Education Society (SES) hangs in balance as there is uncertainty over which university they would be affiliated to. Currently, these colleges are affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) ever since they came into existence.
Now, with the formation of Sarvajanik University of SES, these colleges are gradually being disaffiliated by VNSGU as per government guidelines. However, the Sarvajanik University is not ready to give affiliation to these colleges without clarity on the issue of grants for salary and perks. ....

SMC transformed into a heavily guarded fortress till noon on Tuesday
Surat: Election for one representative of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) senate ended amid tight police bandobust and security arrangements on Tuesday.
Himanshu Raulji, BJP municipal councillor from ward 22, won the election as all votes of BJP councillors went in his favour. Out of 120 total seats of municipal councillors 93 are from BJP, while 27 councillors are from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Total 135 personnel under the supervision of seven police inspectors and sub-inspectors were guarding the SMC headquarters which transformed into a heavily guarded fortress till noon. In addition, 75 marshals of SMC were also put on duty. All 120 elected councillors SMC exercised their franchise at the Sardar Hall. ....

UG admissions at VNSGU to start from tomorrow | Surat News

Surat: The Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) will start the admission process for undergraduate courses from Thursday. The university will complete the form filing and registration in the first stage. Admissions will be finalized only after the students submit a copy of their Class12 results to the university. Students will be called for virtual counselling as per merit in the college of their choice.
The forms will be available online on the university website. After UG, the admission process for PG will commence.
“Students can fill their marks as per the online copy of the result. After receiving a hard copy they can submit it to the university. Students can appear in virtual counselling in the college of their choice,” said K N Chavda, vice-chancellor, VNSGU. ....
