OCEAN PARK – Hope Robinson Schwarz Cox died peacefully in her home in Ocean Park with family at her side, on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the age of 90 years.
Born Jan. 25, 1931, the daughter of Prof. Edward Robinson Schwarz and Dorothy Alice (Bourque) Schwarz, she grew up with her brother, Edward Hudson Schwarz and sister, Dorothy Gretchen Perkins, in Melrose, Mass., attending public schools there. The family summered in Ocean Park where Hope developed close friendships and ties to last her lifetime. In 1950, Hope became a year-round resident when she moved into her family’s Ocean Park home while attending the nursing program at Westbrook College/Maine General Hospital becoming a registered nurse in 1953.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1942, in Saco, Maine, the daughter of Bethena Leona Wakefield and Frank Carl Moulen Sr., and the sister of Frank Carl Moulin Jr. Ms. Moulen held a Master’s Degree in Social Work and was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse of 29 years. She performed nine years at the former Webber Hospital in Biddeford and20 years at Maine Med in Portland, with 10 of those years in the Burn Unit. She never let anyone die alone and held their hand.
In the 19 years of her retirement, she dedicated herself to cleaning the former MERC plant, the mills, businesses on Main Street, the apartment building where she resided at for 17 years, accepting no pay. In her mid-70s, she continued to assist the Main Street businesses by shoveling and raking snow off roofs, buildings, sidewalks and always shoveling out the fire hydrants. KENNEBUNK – Janet Hames Crook, 83, of Kennebunk, Jan. 9, 2021, from COVID-19 complications at SMHC in Biddeford. Janet was born in Boston on June 16, 1937 to John F and Sadie (McLeod) Hames. Janet, who wanted to be a nurse since she was 7, graduated from Dorchester (Mass.) High School, Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing and Saint Joseph’s College. Retired from pediatric and rehabilitation nursing,, she had worked for Massachusetts General Hospital, University of Philadelphia Hospital, Norwood (Mass.) Hospital, Webber Hospital, Goodall Hospital, Morningstar (Occupational Nurse), Specialing, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Portland and Dover. She loved nursing, especially working with children.

KENNEBUNK Helen K. Truman, ”Yai Yai”, 94, of Kennebunk passed away peacefully Dec. 14, 2020 at the Gosnell House after a brief stay.
Helen was born in Sanford on Sept. 23,1926, daughter of Nicholas and Efterpi (Parliari) Kostis.
Growing up in Sanford, Helen attended Sanford schools, graduated from Nasson College with a degree in Home Economics and completed post graduate work at the University of New Hampshire in Fashion and Design while modeling in Boston. As a professional teacher she taught in the Sanford, Biddeford and Thornton Academy school systems.
On May 16, 1954 Helen was married to James Throumoulos (Truman) and they began their life in Biddeford where she continued to teach and they owned and ran multiple family businesses; including The Cascade Inn in Saco and The Lighthouse Motor Inn in Scarborough.
