Cyclone Tauktae will further intensify into a  Severe Cyclonic Storm over the next couple of days and is likely to cause thunderstorms and gusty winds in parts of Sindh, including Karachi. 
The depression over Southeast Arabian has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm TAUKTAE and lay centered at a distance of about 1,460km south-southeast of Karachi, read the Met Department s alert.
The weather department said that the maximum speed of the winds sustained around the cyclone have been recorded at 70-90km/hr, adding that they are expected to reach 100kh/hr. ....

The Meteorological Department on Saturday issued an alert about the Cyclone Tauktae, saying that it will cause raindust and thunderstorms along with gusty winds in Karachi.
The alert reported that the intense low-pressure area over Southeast Arabian has intensified into a cyclonic storm – Tauktae – and lay centered at a distance of about 1,460 kilometres south-southeast of Karachi.
The weather department notification said that the maximum speed of the winds sustained around the cyclone have been recorded at 70-90 kilometres per hour and expected to reach 100 kilometres per hours. ....

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said none of Pakistan s coastal areas face any threat from the tropical cyclone.
Yesterday’s low-pressure area over Southeast Arabian Sea has rapidly intensified into a depression (intense low-pressure area) and lay centered around latitude, the statement said.
The cyclone is at a distance of about 1,640 km southeast of Karachi, the PMD said, predicting it would likely intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 18-24 hours and move in a north-northwest direction.
PMD’s Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre, Karachi is closely monitoring the system and will keep updating accordingly, it said. ....

A rare clash of cyclones off the coast of Western Australia is expected to bring wild weather to much of the state’s coast – and has excited weather enthusiasts across the globe.
Tropical cyclone Seroja, which tore through Timor-Leste last weekend, was on a collision course with tropical cyclone Odette, with the resultant interaction known as the Fujiwhara effect.
The phenomenon, named after the Japanese meteorologist Sakuhei Fujiwhara, describes what happens when two tropical systems rotate around each other, making it difficult to forecast the intensity and path of storms. ....
