Coronavirus Australia: Aussie soldiers who refuse to get the jab banned from serving overseas

Australians soldiers who refuse to get vaccinated against Covid-19 could be banned from serving overseas and a number of frontline roles.
The Department of Defence along with the Australian Border Force and WA's Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have warned tough restrictions lay ahead for employees who don't opt for the jab.
It comes after WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson defended forcing unvaccinated officers to wear face masks while on duty starting next week.

Canada wildfires: Australian crews see similar conditions to devastating 2019-2020 bushfire season

The Kenora 51 wildfire has already destroyed over 170,000 hectares of land.(Ontario Forest Fires/Twitter)
Hundreds of thousands of hectares have already been destroyed, and multiple communities are packed in evacuation centres, many not knowing if they will have homes to go back to as the threat shows no sign of subsiding if conditions don't ease.
Dozens of Australian crews are now in the fire-zones, working hard to protect lives, properties and assets in impacted areas with experts suggesting the overall cost from the fires could reach billions of dollars.
NSW Fire and Rescue Superintendent Gregory Wright is deployed at the Kenora 51 fire which has been burning for several weeks and destroyed over 170,000 hectares near the Ontario-Manitoba border.

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan says the tropical cyclone bearing down on the state's coastline is the fiercest of its kind "seen in decades".
Fast-moving Cyclone Seroja was upgraded to a category three and recorded winds of 170/km on Sunday evening, as emergency services warned residents from Carnarvon to Lancelin of impending danger.
Seroja was maintaining its intensity as it approached the coast, but was downgraded to category 2 at 11pm with sustained winds near the centre of 100 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 140 kilometres per hour.
The core of tropical cyclone Seroja is moving inland southeast of Geraldton. Wind gusts to 170 km/h were reported near Kalbarri during landfall, but the cyclone has now weakened slightly.

A rare clash of cyclones off the coast of Western Australia is expected to bring wild weather to much of the state’s coast – and has excited weather enthusiasts across the globe.
Tropical cyclone Seroja, which tore through Timor-Leste last weekend, was on a collision course with tropical cyclone Odette, with the resultant interaction known as the Fujiwhara effect.
The phenomenon, named after the Japanese meteorologist Sakuhei Fujiwhara, describes what happens when two tropical systems rotate around each other, making it difficult to forecast the intensity and path of storms.
