March 03, 2021LITTLETON Vertex Tower Assets received the green light from Littleton Zoning Board officials last week to develop a 140-foot communications tower near the hospital. The Massachusetts-based company secured a special exception in late Jan but needed additional variance approval because of the site s proximity to an existing tower.
Section 6.10.12 of the town s zoning ordinance indicates that no personal wireless communications tower of any kind may be located within a one-mile radius of any other personal wireless communications tower without variance approval from the zoning board. Mass. Company Proposes 146-Foot Tall Communications Tower For Littleton

LITTLETON â As the North Country advances efforts to improve high-speed broadband, a Massachusetts company proposes a 146-foot-tall communications tower that would accommodate at least five broadband providers.
A public hearing before the Littleton Zoning Board of Adjustment is scheduled for 6 p.m., Jan. 14 at the Littleton Opera House, for the personal wireless communications facility by Vertex Tower Assets LLC, a telecommunications infrastructure developer that was formed in 2012.
If approved, it would go on a wooded, undeveloped 20-acre property owned by Dwight Thibeault along Paper Road, near Hilltop Road, Littleton Regional Healthcare and Interstate 93.
The company seeks a special exception from the ZBA to install the monopole-style tower inside a 50-by-72-foot fenced compound in a Residential II zoning district. ....
