Surviving Summer, a new live-action surfing series for teens in production down under.
The 10-episode series tells the story of a teenager from New York who catches the competitive surfing bug when she’s sent to live with family friends in Australia.
Netflix is producing the show with Werner Film Productions (
Dance Academy) and Germany’s ZDF Enterprises.
Joanna Werner will executive produce, and co-pro partner ZDF is handling worldwide distribution, except in territories where Netflix holds the rights. Film Victoria is also funding the production, which is slated to shoot in regional Victoria this March and April.
Netflix announced the co-pro deal at Australian industry event Screen Forever (formerly SPAA Conference), which wraps up tomorrow. ....
