Manhunt continues for armed suspects wanted in Vernon shooting

The shelter-in-place order in Somers has been lifted as police continue their search for armed suspects after a shooting in Vernon early Friday.
Vernon Police Lt. William Meier said officers responded to the Parkwest Apartments to investigate a reported shooting around 12:45 a.m.
Responding officers found an apartment had been hit by bullets. Meier said the apartment was occupied when the shooting occurred, but there were no injuries.
“Based on the initial investigation, it is believed a disturbance preceded the shooting,” Meier said. ....
