Oklahoma City? Pawtucket speed-camera tickets throw recipients for a loop

Bruce Trombley of Warren received a Pawtucket speed-camera ticket in an envelope with a Beverly, Mass. return address and an Oklahoma City postmark. He threw it on the back seat of his truck, thinking it was junk mail.
PAWTUCKET Bruce Trombley sifted through his mail one day last fall to find a business-size envelope with a Massachusetts return address and Oklahoma City postmark.
 “I looked at the envelope, thought it was junk mail and threw it in the back seat of my truck,” said Trombley, who lives in Warren. That’s because the return address on the envelope said “Citations Processing Center” and listed a post office box in Beverly, a city 90 miles away on the north shore of Boston that he’s never visited. ....

City approves transfer station agreement


Councilors Tim Rudd and Meghan Kallman voted against the agreement.
Councilors said that though this may not be the most popular decision among Fairlawn residents, they must look out for the entire city and the costs of throwing away trash into the future. They said they expect improvement on past operation of the facility, with built-in protections included.
The city’s property subcommittee forwarded the agreement to the council for approval. Waste Connections will be required to foot the bill for the new transfer station and the city will then pay back the money over a decade of lease payments. ....
