Nine firefighters were injured in a house fire on Staten Island.
The fire broke out on 1072 Victory Boulevard, just a few blocks from the Silver Lake Golf Course and Cemetery shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.
The fire quickly spread to two alarms.
Three of the firefighters have serious injuries. One civilian also suffered serious injuries.
There is no word on what started the fire.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Silver Lake Park is today known for its tree-lined jogging and walking trails, its grassy expanses that are good for picnics or sun worshipping, and the twin reservoirs that are key parts of the New York City water system.
But in 1878, Silver Lake was the place where a gruesome discovery was made.
On Sept. 15 of that year, a group of three boys tending cattle discovered a partially buried barrel containing decomposing human remains on the shoreline of Silver Lake. ....
