St. George Road (Rt 131) reopens following vehicle accident

SOUTH THOMASTON At approximately 6:35 p.m., July 21, St. George Road, in South Thomaston, reopened to traffic between Westbrook Street and Kinney Woods Road, following a two-vehicle crash in front of a veterinary clinic.
The vehicles involved in the 4 p.m. crash were hauled away by Creek Hill Towing. Central Maine Power then spent more than an hour longer replacing a broken pole.
Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

Police ask for help finding missing Rockland man

Police in Maine are asking for the public’s help finding a missing man from Rockland.
Police say Tyler Gricus was reported missing on April 12th, and was last seen walking in Rockland on April 9th. He had been staying on a boat in Rockland Harbor.
Police searched the area and a dive team conducted an underwater search. A Coast Guard helicopter also searched the harbor and the shore line.
Investigators are now focused on areas of land in Knox County. Rockland Police are also asking for security video from anyone living along Route 73 between Mechanic Street in Rockland and Westbrook Street in South Thomaston. ....

The Westbrook Planning Board on Tuesday approved an expansion to the Vertical Harvest project and reviewed plans for two solar arrays to provide municipal power.
Vertical Harvest, a parking garage, farm and housing hybrid project planned at Mechanic and Main streets downtown, got the OK to add 7,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, along with 10 more apartments above.
Developers said they hope the retail space would be rented to a specialty grocery store that would also offer take-out and on-site dining. ....

The Southern Maine Regional SWAT team raided two motels on Main Street in South Portland this week arresting two suspects considered to be dangerous.
Ryan Boles, 25, of South Portland and Stephen Tracy, 41, of South Portland are suspects in a residential burglary that occurred this month at a home on Westbrook Street, Detective Sgt. Christopher Todd of the South Portland Police Department said in a news release Wednesday night. The homeowner reported that several firearms were stolen during burglary. ....
