Habitat For Humanity Of Cleveland Holds 2-Home Dedication Honoring The Ashe & Fyffe Families

Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland will hold a Home Dedication Ceremony on Tuesday, July 13 to honor new Habitat homeowners, William & Rebekah Ashe and Merilee Fyffe. This two-family townhome marks the 145th and 146th homes built in Bradley County. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at 1205/1207 Franitza Way SW in Cleveland. It will also be shown live on Habitat’s Facebook page (/ClevelandHabitat).
About the homeowners:
William Ashe is legally blind. He relies on the eyes and kindness of others to navigate daily life. Rebekah came into his life when she was assigned to help William shop at Walmart. William enjoyed her company and began asking for her assistance during his shopping trips. They became friends, and eventually married a couple of years ago. They currently live in an apartment with stairs which are dangerous for William, given ....

Faye L. Riley, 83, of Marshall, the beloved wife of the late Billy W. Riley, slipped away on May 23, 2021.
The couple met at a roller rink in Alexandria when Bill accidentally ran into and knocked her down! Needless to say, Faye was not interested in the clumsy boy at the time. Several years later, Bill was on leave at age 19 from the Navy when his path once again crossed Fayeâs, who was then 16. This time, they were introduced by family. They fell in love and married!
Faye was a homemaker, caring for their three children, while also being involved in Billâs construction company. Faye was a wonderful cook, seamstress and crocheter, who also loved needlepoint. She also loved reading and was an avid gardener. She had a greenhouse that Bill constructed for her, where she raised beautiful African violets. ....

Ben Fortner Jr., of Alabaster, Alabama, was born on Jan. 27, 1944 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021.
He was a loving, devoted, and supportive husband for 53 years. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama. Ben proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, Spec5, he served July 1967- July 1969 at Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, and Long Binh, Vietnam.
He was a coder in a data processing unit. Ben loved flying planes. He also built and flew remote control planes, helicopters, and drones. He was an avid toy collector. In his later years, Ben’s most favorite hobby was going to some special’s friend’s lake house and working on projects, socializing, and occasionally got in a little fishing. ....

Ella Joan Partin, 84, of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021. She was born on June 12, 1936 in Jellico, TN to the late Jess and Fannie Hill. She was a 1954 graduate of Jellico High School and worked as a clerk at Jellico Hospital. She enjoyed yardwork and housework. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and was a member of the Sunshine Class. She also enjoyed listening to the Gaithers. Ella was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jerry W. Partin; four brothers, William Earl, Charles Lloyd, Alfred Jerome, and Roy Cecil Hill; and sister, Mabel Ruth Arnold. ....
