New project for Huntingdon Youth Theatre

Huntingdon Youth Theatre has achieved national recognition for its work.

Huntingdon Youth Theatre has just come to the end of a successful collaboration with the National Theatre and has invited to participate in the National Theatre Connections Project.
This is a festival which brings together a number of youth theatre groups annually to perform a series of bespoke, commissioned plays which are written specifically for the festival. Leading modern playwrights script plays for the groups to perform at their home theatres and then, during a festival week, at a local professional theatre.
This year, HYT performed a play called Look Up, by Andrew Muir, and members were treated to an online workshop with the author himself. ....

Shakespeare performance in Huntingdon is cancelled

This summer s Shakespeare at The George (SaTG) production has been cancelled.
Trustees have said they made the decision with a a heavy heart, but a sense of inevitability .
SaTG was due to perform Twelfth Night this year after postponing the performance last year but felt there was still too much uncertaincy around Covid restrictions to make plans.
We hoped that we’d be in a better place this summer and able to perform one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies to our usual packed houses, said trustee Simon Maylor.

Whilst there has been lots of positive news recently in terms of the vaccine roll out, there is still a huge amount of uncertainty with regards to what restrictions will be in place until when. ....
