N.J. native establishes scholarship in honor of former high school athlete

James Jimmy Mayo, who graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1972, died at the age of 67. He played football during his high school years. A scholarship in his name will be awarded to a minority student of the Raritan Township-based high school.Courtesy

A former Hunterdon County resident is establishing a scholarship to commemorate the recently deceased alum of Hunterdon Central Regional High School.
The James “Jimmy” Mayo scholarship will be awarded to a minority student of the high school in Raritan Township who has faced and overcome difficulties in their secondary education, and been accepted at a two- or four-year institution of higher learning for the 2021-22 school year. ....
