Lasagna Love Spreads Joy During the Pandemic [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
Some might call it a pandemic miracle.
Just over a year ago, prompted by the COVID-19 struggles facing families in her neighborhood, Rhiannon Menn founded an organization called Lasagna Love. She and others began delivering lasagna dinners to families hard hit by the pandemic. Thanks mostly to word of mouth, Lasagna Love started to take hold.

Today show sent interest soaring, and volunteers all over the country began baking lasagna meals for those having a rough time because of COVID-19.

Wareham Police Arrest Man, Seize Seven Firearms
WAREHAM An East Wareham man has been arrested and seven firearms seized after Wareham Police searched his home.
On Friday, March 5 at about 9:30 p.m., Wareham Police detectives and patrol officers executed a search warrant at 5 Quaker Road. Detectives had conducted an investigation into illegal firearms being stored in the residence.
Police say that during the course of the search, detectives seized seven firearms, ammunition, and a large capacity-feeding device for ammunition.

David Daggett, 34, of East Wareham, is charged with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, four counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and illegal possession of ammunition. ....

Feeding the Hungry in Wareham [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
For more than 25 years, needy individuals and families in the Wareham area have continued to receive food supplies from Damien s Place, a food pantry located on Cranberry Highway.
The food pantry has been open two days a week during the pandemic, and Executive Director Jackie Arsenault says the demand for food has almost doubled during that time.
Arsenault says the pantry s 70 volunteers are busy six days a week, picking up food donations, unloading deliveries from the Greater Boston Food Bank and others, and opening the pantry to those who need help.

Massachusetts provides $46M in affordable housing grants

BOSTON (AP) Massachusetts is making more than $46 million in grants to support a dozen shovel-ready housing projects across the state that will bring create hundreds of new affordable units.
Of the 572 new units, 507 are considered affordable, and 108 will be reserved for extremely low-income households, according to a statement this week from the Department of Housing and Community Development.
The awards will provide a combination of state and federal housing tax credits, state and federal rental vouchers, and direct funds to support new housing development.
“This public health crisis has exposed how vulnerable our working and low-income families are, and ensuring stable housing is vital, Housing and Community Development Undersecretary Jennifer Maddox said in a statement. “As we continue to expand our Eviction Diversion Initiative, keeping a healthy pipelin ....
