Every educator who works in Philadelphia and wants the COVID-19 vaccine can be fully inoculated by the end of the month, officials said Thursday.
Through a partnership between Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the city, and the Philadelphia School District, about 9,000 teachers and other school staff have received their first doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and in all, 20,000 district, charter, parochial, and independent school teachers, as well as daycare workers, have appointments for shots. ....

Philadelphia students are now scheduled to return to school March 8 after a deal was struck by the school district, its teachers union, and the city.
A deal to begin returning Philadelphia School District students to classrooms has been struck: Some teachers will begin reporting to buildings Wednesday, with students at 53 schools starting in-person classes next Monday.
Weeks in the making, the return was announced Monday by Superintendent William R. Hite Jr., Mayor Jim Kenney, American Federation of Teachers Pennsylvania President Arthur Steinberg and Randi Weingarten, the national teachers’ union president.
