Update: North Wales Police have confirmed the road has reopened.
We are told the McDonalds restaurant has remained closed for now.

Emergency services are in attendance at an ongoing incident in Wrexham Town Centre.
North Wales Police say officers are “dealing with an incident on Regent Street” and are asking people to avoid the area.
It seems the incident has taken place near McDonalds.

Kind Bay Initiative awarded police seized cash to support vulnerable people in Colwyn Bay


A COMMUNITY group in Colwyn Bay that works with vulnerable people to explore their creative talents has received a welcome boost thanks to cash seized from criminals.
The Kind Bay Initiative has been providing food, clothes and entertainment as well as advice and support for those struggling with isolation and mental health issues and in need of support since 2019.
Covid-19 has meant an increase in demand for their weekly activities at their new premises in Princes Drive where they focus on activities such as expressive art, clay therapy, pyrography, printing and photography.
It is a development made possible thanks a £2,500 grant from a special fund distributed by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones. ....

Llandudno hospice to recruit young volunteers using cash seized from crooks


CASH seized from criminals is being put to good use in recruiting a new generation of young hospice volunteers.
St David’s Hospice, which provides hospice care to adult patients across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey, is hoping to attract a new wave of recruits to help run its growing list of outdoor fundraising events and endurance challenges.
Staff will engage with schools, colleges and youth groups in a bid to reach young people aged 16 and over who may be looking for a new challenge in life, especially individuals who are at a higher risk of committing crime.
Thanks to a grant of £2,410 from a special fund distributed by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones, the hospice can press ahead with a new social media recruitment campaign and purchase new high visibility safety vests and IT equipment for use at event and to deliver presentations and new polo shirts for volunteers. ....

Police grant for Rhyl boxing club to benefit antisocial behaviour projects


A BOXING club which has produced a string of Welsh champions over 30 years will continue to pack a punch - thanks to cash confiscated from criminals.
Clwyd Amateur Boxing Club in Rhyl was founded in 1989 by the late Johnny Ritchie, born John Richard Jones, who fought at both amateur and professional level and sparred with legendary world middleweight champion Randolph Turpin.
Johnny s son Darryl Jones and grandson Justin who have followed in his footsteps by running the club, also enjoyed successful boxing careers.
The three generations of the boxing family have helped emerging boxing talent thrive at their gym but club coaches have been credited with helping turn round the lives of members who could have been tempted to follow a life of crime. ....
