Felon sentenced to prison for firearms crime after shooting incident at Billings motel


BILLINGS – A man who admitted to illegally possessing a shotgun after a shooting incident at a Billings motel was sentenced Wednesday to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release, Acting U.S. Attorney Leif Johnson said.
Roderick Lee Little Bear, 39, of Billings, pleaded guilty on Sept. 3, 2020 to prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided.
In court documents filed in the case, the prosecution said that Little Bear was convicted of a state felony in 2016 and was revoked in 2018.
On Oct. 17, 2017, Billings Police officers were dispatched to the Lazy KT Motel in Billings for a report that someone had shot a hole in the ceiling above a room with a shotgun. During the investigation, officers observed a suspect gray pickup return to the motel. The unnamed defendant in the Red Fox Tavern murder trial told police he knew they would turn him over and he had thrown a sawn-off shotgun he had in the sea because he freaked out .
The man with name suppression and Mark Joseph Hoggart are on trial for the October 24, 1987 aggravated robbery of the tavern and murder of its owner, Christopher Bush, in Waikato.

MADEIRA, Ohio (FOX19) - A reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who murdered a store owner in Madeira has been doubled.
The Madeira Police Department is now offering $20,000 after receiving an additional $10,000 from a Cincinnati-based business it leaves unnamed.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms put up the original reward money days after the Feb. 9 murder. ....

A man has been arrested over a firearm being discharged in Dundalk.
Gardai investigating the alleged discharge of a shotgun on Mill Street in the town arrested a man yesterday, Monday in relation to the incident.
The man, aged in his 30s, is currently being questioned at Dundalk garda station.
A garda spokesman said: Gardaí investigating an alleged discharge of a firearm that is believed to have occurred in Dundalk during December 2020, arrested a man, aged in his 30s, yesterday 22nd February 2021.
He is currently detained at Dundalk Garda station under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act. ....
