A man has been seriously injured in a stabbing in south Auckland. Acting detective inspector Shaun Vickers said the man was found with stab wounds near the intersection of Surrey St and Gloucester Rd in Manurewa. Police were notified just after 4.30am Monday. The man was taken to hospital and is in a serious but stable condition, Vickers said. “Police are currently working to establish how the man came to be injured. “A scene examination is underway where the man was found.”

A forensic examination of the Sunnyhills home of Elizabeth Zhong is being carried out by police. Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers, Counties Manukau Police, previously said he hoped the arrest would “bring some reassurance to the community and Elizabeth’s family”.
