Shipley Do-Nuts, one of Houston s oldest and beloved breakfast eateries, has been sold to an affiliate of Austin-based Peak Rock Capital.
The news comes almost a year and a half after Whataburger was sold to investment holdings firm BDT Capital Partners.
The company announced Wednesday that Peak Rock Capital acquired both Shipley Franchise Co. and Shipley Do-nut Flour & Supply Co. in the deal, according to Houston Business Journal s Olivia Pulsinelli. Amounts were not disclosed.
Shipley s was founded in 1936 by Lawrence Shipley Sr., here in Houston, and the headquarters have remained in Houston since then. The popular doughnut and kolache chain has over 300 locations across nine states. ....
