Binghamton man sentenced for firing gun, injuring someone in 2019 (WBNG) The Broome County District Attorney s Office told 12 News a Binghamton man was sentenced to five years in prison in Broome County Court Tuesday. Lavaugn Ramseur was sentenced to five years in prison for discharging a handgun on Schiller Street in Binghamton in August 2019 and injuring another person. He will also face five years of post-release supervision when he gets out of prison. Ramseur was found guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in late May 2021. ....

Updated: 5:26 PM EDT July 16, 2021 BUFFALO, N.Y. The Erie County District Attorney s Office said 29-year-old Jose A. Castillo was arraigned Friday morning. Castillo is being charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder after he allegedly shot two men in Allentown on July 8. The DA s office said around 2 a.m., Castillo fired multiple shots from an illegal handgun at two men, with the intent to kill them, as the victims were walking eastbound on Allen Street near Irving Place. Castillo is also accused of riding away from the scene of the crime on a bicycle. One victim suffered multiple injuries that required him to remain hospitalized at ECMC. The other victim was treated and released. ....
Jury finds Binghamton man guilty of weapons possession, assault BINGHAMTON (WBNG) The Broome County District Attorney s Office announced Thursday that a jury found Lavaughn Ramseur of Binghamton guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and assault in the third degree. The District Attorney s Office said, in August 2019, Ramseur discharged a handgun on Schiller Street in Binghamton and injured another person. They say Ramseur was sent to the Broome County Jail and faces up to 15 years in prison. Ramseur is scheduled to be sentenced on July 30. Of the case, Broome County District Attorney Michael A. Korchak said, Those who endanger our community by the possession and use of illegal firearms will be held accountable.” ....
