SCAT coworkers celebrate kidneyversary

SHELDONâArdis Bonestroo of Sheldon had trouble deciding what to get a friend for a special anniversary.
The decision came down to two mini sculptures, both of which described how grateful she was for this friend.
âI couldnât decide, so I had to do both,â said Ardis, 72.
Dianne Wolthuizen, 59, was the recipient of both presents along with a card with an angel on the front.
For Ardis, it was the least she could do to commemorate the anniversary of her fellow Sheldon Community Ambulance Team member gifting a kidney to her.
During the SCAT meeting on Tuesday, June 23, Ardis surprised Dianne with the two gifts, the card and a cake to celebrate the anniversary. Ardis was joined by her husband, Earl, and Dianneâs husband, Wally, was also there. ....

Miller Resigning As SCAT Director, KIWA Learns

Sheldon, Iowa SCAT Director Kevin Miller will be resigning from the ambulance team’s Director position, as well as his paramedic position later this month.
KIWA talked with Miller Monday morning and asked what went into his decision to leave the ambulance team.
(As above) “I have just had a lot of life changes in the past year-and-a-half, with getting married, starting a family. And I just feel like I needed to take a step back and really focus on some other areas in my life so I can continue helping others in the long run.”
Miller began his association with SCAT as a volunteer in August of 2015. In July of 2016 he became SCAT’s first full-time employee, tackling the new position of Full-Time EMT/Paramedic Coordinator, becoming SCAT Director in April of 2018. ....
