Shreveport Water Service Almost Restored, Awaiting Lab Results

SHREVEPORT WATER – As of Tuesday afternoon, a little under 12,000 Shreveport residents were still experiencing water service disruptions as the city water department was working to make repairs on more than 70 water main breaks caused by last week’s freezing temperatures. During the city council meeting yesterday Mayor Adrian Perkins said those residents are expected to have some water pressure restored soon. Shreveport Water & Sewerage Director William Daniel told the city council that as water service is restored, customers may experience some odor to the water as it is being treated as a precaution.

Crews scramble to fix water system failures in Shreveport-Bossier

SHREVEPORT, La. Water department crews are toiling amid treacherous road conditions to fix leaks that have plagued the systems in both Shreveport and neighboring Bossier City. Many people are reporting low or no water pressure in homes and businesses.
Shreveport Water & Sewerage Department Director William Daniel says breaks in water lines, water mains, and pipes inside homes and buildings are system wide.
Daniel hopes that everyone in Shreveport has at least some water by the end the day Thursday or Friday. He says crews are trying to find and plug every leak they can find. But it s not easy in the slick road conditions. ....
