The Jamestown Human Rights Commission discussed its protocols for complaints and issues during its monthly meeting last week.

How the Jamestown Human Rights Commission will handle complaints and issues has been determined.
During the monthly meeting of the commission last week, the group discussed the protocols that will be used to handle complaints and issues in the community.
Jamestown Mayor Eddie Sundquist said the commission will have to determine how it will decide what issues will be discussed and what action the group might take. He said the commission will have authority over human rights complaints the city receives. For example, if a contractor thinks there is a bias against their company, they can file a complaint with the commission. Or if an individual thinks they didn’t acquire a new job because of a human rights issue, they can file a complaint with the commission. ....

The Jamestown Police Department released its 2020 annual report that indicated the total number of violent crimes in the city rose from 191 in 2019 to 251 last year, which was an increase of 31%.

Earlier this month, the Jamestown Police Department released its 2020 annual report that indicated the total number of violent crimes rose from 191 in 2019 to 251 last year, which was an increase of 31%. Violent crimes include murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, of which three of the four categories increased in 2020. ....

Prison Warden Gone, Second County Leader Out This Week
The Bucks County Correctional Facility’s warden is out.
Warden Paul Lagana is gone as the top leader at the Doylestown Township campus that has been in the headlines for how the county handles people with mental health problemsand COVID-19 cases behind bars.
Sources with knowledge of correctional center operations said management acknowledged Lagana would no longer being running the facility over the past days.
The reason for Lagana’s departure was not released.
“Paul Lagana’s separation from employment with the county becomes effective this Monday, Jan. 4. Because we don’t comment publicly on personnel issues I can’t elaborate on the circumstances,” said county communications director Larry King. ....

Bucks County s emergency services manager is leaving the county at the start of the new year after a sudden change in leadership this week.
Emergency Services Director Scott Forster is leaving the county, though few details about why Forster is leaving are available.
County officials would not comment on personnel issues, apart from confirming Department of Emergency Communications Director Audrey Kenny will temporarily fill Forster s role as of Jan. 2.
