Independence Day 2021 – July 4th Celebrations Across Arizona – Arizona Daily Independent


Across Arizona, communities will be celebrating the birth of our nation on the 4th of July. From Apache Junction to Yuma, there are many communities with opportunities to celebrate Independence Day.
Local parades in several White Mountains communities to celebrate Independence Day will temporarily close sections of state highways on Saturday, July 3, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Drivers should plan for delays while the following temporary closures are in place:
SHOW LOW: US 60 between mileposts 339 and 341 and SR 260 at milepost 341 from 9 a.m. to noon.
SPRINGERVILLE-EAGAR: US 60 at milepost 387 and SR 260 at milepost 396 from 10 a.m. to noon. ....

PHOENIX — With temperatures forecast to be in the upper 90s most of the weekend with the potential to reach 100 degrees for the first time this year on Saturday some may be looking for ways to beat the heat, whether that s at the water park or indoors where it s air-conditioned.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said people should continue to avoid large gatherings and wear a mask when unable to socially distance themselves. Masks are not recommended when swimming or in water. There is also no evidence that the COVID-19 virus can transfer via a swimming pool, hot tub, beach or lake, according to the CDC. ....
