POTTSVILLE — The Schuylkill County Election Bureau, among others in the state, experienced difficulties handling mail-in ballots with the deadline to apply just one week before the General Election. Director Albert L.Gricoski said the short timeframe between the application deadline, Oct. 27, and the Nov. 3 election did not leave much time for the staff to go through the applications. “One week ahead was too close,” Gricoski said. “That definitely made the task of fulfilling all the applications harder.” Gricoski said making the deadline to apply the same as the voter registration deadline, Oct. 19, or earlier would have made the amount of requests easier to handle.
