To Bunbury, in search of the well-endowed wife of a dancing master and a seven-foot hero.
There is little known about the history of Bunbury prior to the Norman conquest but it’s believed the name is derived from Saxon times. The church of St Boniface that stands in the village is thought to be the site of a much earlier Christian place of worship where a timber structure stood around the year 755 AD.

St Boniface gets £250,000 makeover | Halesowen News

A £250,000 refurbishment project at a Quinton church has been completed, helping ensure the community can access pandemic support services.
St Boniface Church has new lights and roofing, in part thanks to a £25,000 grant from the Enovert Community Trust, which runs the Himley Quarry landfill site.
An inspection had found asbestos around the roof girders, which needed to be repaired to allow the church’s ongoing use. That gave the opportunity for further refurbishments, including new lighting.
As well as worship, the church hosts a weekly foodbank, advice surgery, and affordable clubs for vulnerable children. On average, it supports more than 200 children and young people each week, as well as adults struggling with issues including debt and hunger. ....
