Chipmaker Qualcomm Technologies has announced a new SoC, the 778G 5G, new reference designs to speed up 5G adoption across industry segments, and new features in its X65 5G Modem-RF systems that it claims will help expand 5G take-up across the globe.
The three announcements were made at the company s annual 5G summit, held online this year due to the ongoing pandemic.
The 778G is expected to be used in smartphones in the second quarter of 2021, the company said in a statement, adding that brands like Honor Huawei s former budget smartphone division which it sold last year iQoo, Motorola, OPPO, realme and Xiaomi would all be launching models based on the chip. ....
